I think of all the pages so far, this one troubles me – and it’s simply because I don’t like the strip of white to the left.  It seems to me to be a bit too stark.  Of course, you notice these things after the fact at times.  I do like the busyness of the Prompt 10papers and the patterns on the page and I did that on purpose so that the whole page seems chaotic all except for the focal image.  Honestly, taking some time for myself alone and finding solitude is what grounds me.  The challenge was to repeat some sort of element for visual interest.  I used the diamonds because of the shapes in the pattern papers and also to draw your eye away from the chaos and into the solitude.  Hopefully it works.

There is so much movement in this piece, that my eyes needed a place to rest. Is it a coincidence I rest my eyes on a porch swing? What better place for the eyes to rest. As to the white paper, you could try dabbing a little distress ink, like Vintage photo or old paper (both Ranger products) or other distressing techniques to age the paper a little. You don’t have to do much, maybe just on the edges or wherever. Easy does it, though.

Oops. After looking at it, I figured out it’s not a porch swing, but a porch chair! Ah, well…restive nonetheless.
